Self-love is not about ego and conceit; it's about putting yourself first and taking good, loving care of yourself. It is not always easy at first. Many of us have been criticizing ourselves for most of our lives. We see more wrongs than rights. We are harder on ourselves than we are anyone else. But why? It causes so much suffering. It is time to let all that go. Don't you deserve to be loved at least as much as you love others in your life? Actually, you deserve to be loved the most in your life.
It is truly loving ourselves, all of ourselves (yes, even the parts we may not want to accept - love those too) that we can have a fulfilled life. True, deep, unconditional self love is a gift that keeps on giving. 🥰 The more you love yourself, the more love you have to share with everyone and everything around you. How do we do that? One way can be through sound healing.
What is Sound Healing?
Sound healing is a holistic practice that uses sound vibrations to treat physical and emotional ailments (learn more about sound healing and living a sound life in this blog post). Sound healing (also called a sound bath) has been used for centuries as a way to bring balance and harmony to the body and mind. It is "medicine" of frequency bringing balance to the body, mind and inner self.
Sound healing can provide an emotional release, allowing us to let go of negative emotions and thoughts, and move us closer to self-love.

Gratitude Practice and Sound Healing
There are many self-care practices that can help us cultivate self-love, such as a daily gratitude practice. By focusing on what we are grateful for, we shift our mindset and cultivate feelings of love and appreciation for ourselves. Make a few minutes a day to write the top 5 things you're grateful in the morning and again in the evening. Try to make the lists different as much as possible.
Listening to recordings of calming crystal singing bowls can relax you and put you into a state of inner peace so you can easily focus on what is good in your life. Combine listening to the bowls while you're doing the gratitude list and even while you're drifting off to sleep or any time you're feeling stressed or down. Or even better, joining a live sound bath event or a private sound healing session can amplify feelings of gratitude and appreciation for many aspects of life. These types of experiences can help us develop a deeper understanding of ourselves and cultivate self-love.

Through listening to calming harmonic sounds, we can learn to relax, release negative emotions and thoughts, and connect with our inner selves. We can use sound as a tool for self-care and relaxation, allowing us to be more present and mindful in our daily lives. When we live more mindfully and feel at peace, we are able to have more compassion and love for ourself. This also helps us handle the stressors in life and be able to deal with challenges as they arise. Taking time for yourself and living mindfully and with purpose can bring more care and love into your heart. When you make time to feel good, you're less likely to spend any time being down on yourself, or listening to the inner critic. To use sound in your self-love journey, you can join group or private sound baths, or use YouTube videos, Insight Timer audio meditations, and pre recorded crystal bowl track. These are all free ways to use sound healing.
Another free instrument is your own voice. Your voice is the number one healing instrument for your body. Toning is done merely by singing vowels (see video here).
